Projects Overview
A Dedicated Network
MWIA projects are run by dedicated and hard-working Loreto Sisters, volunteers and community workers. The Loreto Sisters live in communities both locally and overseas and therefore understand their needs. Projects are designed after a great deal of community consultation and participation. MWIA helps to develop partnerships within the global Loreto network providing opportunities for people to be involved.
Dare to Imagine
The Loreto Sisters, volunteers and community workers who run MWIA projects do so with rigorous planning, extensive research, community engagement, ongoing monitoring, and evaluation of outcomes. Many of them, in the tradition of Mary Ward, have ‘dared to imagine’ and have moved to remote places to assist where the need is greatest.
Open and Transparent
MWIA projects are run transparently and openly. They are accountable to their stakeholders – the local people – with justice, sincerity and felicity at their core. MWIA is committed to recognising and promoting gender equality, the human rights of all people and supporting women and children to receive the education and skills they need to transform their lives and the world around them.
Best Practice
MWIA uses stories and information from our projects to educate and inspire the Loreto community about issues in the world, to raise awareness and support advocacy activities.
